Renovating a Bungalow in Groby, Leicester

Introduction

Our client Lee, was renovating and extending a bungalow to make it a family home for his growing family.  The family knew when they bought the property, they wanted to make changes and make their home look fantastic on the outside as much as they were transforming it on the inside.

The Challenge

Lee’s family home was in danger of looking like a mismatched home following the renovation works that were being done.  With the bricks not quite matching it would be evident that the house had extensions done.  They wanted to keep costs down so using facing bricks was more costly.

Lee and his architect looked at numerous options to find the right solution that would provide that wow factor whenever anyone came to the house.

Our Solution

Understanding that Lee and his family wanted to be proud of their home and to make it stand out for all the right reasons on the street we looked at applying a silicone render system that would enhance the house but also ensure that it would last years.  This allowed Lee to use blockwork on those areas that were new or where windows and doors were being moved, helping to keep costs down.

The silicone render would also not need maintenance as wouldn’t need painting and it would be better at repelling pollutants more than other render systems.

The Transformation

The results were remarkable.  As the render was applied the house started to look as if it had been there for many years whilst giving it the most modern look possible.

Outcome

When we had finished Lee and his family couldn’t believe the transformation, having clean lines, and a very modern looking home.  They couldn’t wait to move in and have their first family party.
