Transforming a Family Home: Energy Efficiency Meets Modern Elegance

Introduction

Dasha and Adam had recently transformed the interior of their detached family home in the Nottinghamshire countryside. To complete their vision, they sought to modernize the exterior, improve energy efficiency, and create a sleek, contemporary look. WPS Plastering was entrusted with bringing their plans to life through external wall insulation.

Challenge

The key challenge was ensuring the home not only looked modern but also performed efficiently to reduce energy costs. As a large, detached property, achieving uniform insulation and a flawless finish required meticulous planning and execution. Additionally, Dasha and Adam wanted the rendering to complement their surrounding countryside setting while giving the home a contemporary edge.

Solution

To address these needs, we applied 90mm EPS insulation by Baumit, finished with a high-quality silicone render. This system was selected for its outstanding insulation properties, weather resistance, and ability to deliver a sleek, durable finish. The silicone render not only enhances energy efficiency but also provides a low-maintenance, hydrophobic surface, ensuring long-term protection against the elements.

Outcome

The transformation was remarkable. The home now boasts a modern, sleek exterior that harmonizes with its rural surroundings while significantly improving energy efficiency. Dasha and Adam were thrilled, stating:

“Outstanding work from WPS Plastering. The service from the very start has been brilliant. We couldn’t thank Claire, Andy & Roger enough for helping us transform our house into a beautiful warm home. Always responsive, always on time, knowledgeable, reliable, and committed team. Attention to detail is second to none. Everything is finished to the highest standard, and the render quality makes our home stand proud.”

Conclusion

This project is a testament to how external wall insulation can redefine a home, blending aesthetics with functionality. Whether you’re looking to modernize your property or improve its energy performance, WPS Plastering delivers expert solutions tailored to your needs.
