Project - Residential External Wall Insulation Grantham
Our brief to externally insulate and render the external walls of the bungalow to create a modern look to the existing bungalow.
Our clients were completing a full renovation of this 1950s bungalow in the heart of the Grantham countryside. They were having new windows and doors, a new roof, new flooring internally, the layout reconfigured and fully re-plastered. As part of the works they also wanted to have the property more energy efficient and started to look at insulating the property externally. They contacted us to work with them in achieving this finish and we were happy to work with them in ensuring the right finish.
We used Permarock's External Wall Insulation system using 90mm EPS insulation boards and a Grey White 1.5mm silicone finish which complimented the slate roof and anthracite windows and doors. In addition we also insulated an annex to match the bungalow using the same Insulated render system.
Working with the clients they were unsure on how to finish the building below DPC (Damp Proof Course). The bricks were in a poor state and just painting these would ruin the modern sleek look that all other works had gone into creating. A solution was found in using black fascia boards which would not only hide the original bricks but still allow the building to breathe.
Overall the bungalow looks amazing following the works and it was a pleasure to work with these clients throughout the project.
